About the artist

My name is luis alvarez, i’m a california based artist with mexican roots. over the years my craft has been continuously refining through mistakes, experiments, and self-study. whether i’m sketching or painting, i’m either up early or late at night working. detail in my works is important as well as capturing my vision and incorporating my culture. most of my works consists of portraiture using graphite and charcoal, in addition to mixed media. my arts has created new friendships and connections with people from all over the world. i hope by exposing my works, I can continue to connect the bridges between different cultures.
